hey guys, it’s joe rady from radies rise and we’re out here in los angeles california for an electrifying event and it’s for this car right here this is it this is the all new 2022 porsche tycon sport turismo gts but before we get into this power packed all-wheel drive performance ev let’s talk about what’s going on here porsche has been around for decades making that ultimate in They enlarged the side air curtains with that flat black you could see the horizontal slots there to help direct air flow but they also gave us some concave shape to the front end to help suck that air in and channel it down the side because remember it’s all about cheating the air and being as slippery as we can now when it comes to headlights of course you’re going to get that beautiful headlight design everything on the gts is blacked out It looks like a 911 if you only cut the middle region of the front mounted trunk piece.
Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo 2022
Where is the home of Porsche? You acquired the magnificent Porsche crest and all that heritage from Su guard Germany.
I really like the look and the way they sank the badging into the hood to give you that aerodynamic efficiency.
From behind the wheel, you can see that perfect vantage point as you’re driving down your favorite twisty road, and you’ve got those beautifully sculpted fenders that curve right towards the a-pillars now as we come around the bend, what are we getting on our gts now standard is the 20 inch ticon turbo wheel but guess what we have the optional 21 inch rs spider forged aluminum wheels love the design satin finish to him you got yo Aside from that 21-inch wheel lurking behind you is that super-sized carbon ceramic brake setup, so you have your carbon ceramic rotor the size of a pizza hut pizza probably bigger than what you ate last night two piece that’s going to help dissipate heat, and one way you can tell it’s that carbon ceramic setup is the bright yellow on the calipers there, and of course you’re going to get a larger caliper that’s going to help give us that stopping Air suspension helps lower the vehicle, and the tycon gts already sits a little lower than your standard ticon, but it’s all about taking goodies from the 4s from the turbo and bringing them to this performance brand, and if you’re wondering if we have summer tires, yes, these are pirelli p0 summer tires up front, and they’re 265 on the width 35 series sidewall, and of course we’ve got a dual motor setup, with One of the many reasons is that it took the design from the concept vehicle and brought it into the street going now on our particular one we do have color match mirror caps you’re going to get 360 degree cameras now what you could do is option all of this to be guards red that is that popular color probably one of my favorite colors on any porsche guards red you could also do carbon fiber mirrors as well if you wanted to now if you’re saying well joe from the side of the street going now if you Look at how they flare out the back of the bumper led lighting and you’ll notice the portion name dropped in there and I love how they do almost like a microchip design with what’s around the porsche script there really shows the attention to detail my one zonk is this guy right here this guy spoils the party you have a party at your house and that one friend shows up that’s just a big jerk when he’s drunk that’s it I wish they would do something about it Not visible from anywhere up top, but I do want to highlight with the front mounted trunk that location for usable space you could easily fit two carry-on size bags in that front area and that’s just the front trunk area where of course you have a full cargo area now normally this is where we would talk about horsepower on a front mounted engine car, so let’s talk about horsepower while we have the hood open for the frunk you have those two electric motors mated to a two-speed transmission you have those 590 horsepower and 626 pound-feet of torque, which is the same as the Porsche Tycoon Turbo.
Of course, there’s the liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery pack.
The vehicle weighs 5100 pounds and has a 0-60 time of 3.5 seconds, which is the same for the sport turismo as it is for the sedan.
Top speed is 155 miles per hour, and the quarter mile will take approximately 11.2 seconds.
If you’re curious about mpge’s, we’re predicting a range of roughly 235 miles.
73 mpg in the city, 78 mpg on the highway, and of course 17 cubic feet of storage space with all that beautiful led lighting, but you know what, let’s dive inside the cabin and see what the Tycon has to offer.
[Music] [Music] Okay guys, we’re inside this 2022 porsche tycoon sport turismo gts what does gts stand for remember grand turismo sport now I know you’re thinking to yourself joe this guards red sport turismo is really doing things to me inside my mind inside my heart and definitely inside my body how much is it well first and foremost before I let the cat out of the bag Let’s take a look at how the GTS got its start.
The first gts on a Porsche was in 1963 on the Porsche 904 gts, but the most famous one that everyone knows is 2010 on the Porsche 911, which was the first time that a gts was offered.
So let’s speak about cost.
The taikan gts sedan begins at 131 thousand dollars, but we’re in a sport turismo, so let’s speak about it.
The msrp for the sport turismo is 133 thousand dollars.
You can obviously option it up to around 180 000 euros, so let’s look at what you get for the money.
The door panels absolutely love the spectacular style now remember this is a german production vehicle for the german market and it is a pre-production unit, but you do have that wonderful red contrast stitching with the nice leather up top and then you’re going to get that race text material which is porsche’s own designed microfiber suede material three memory seat settings for the front seats Going from the door panel to the dash, there’s more of that wonderful leather, some red contrast stitching, and a little bit of gloss black, but nothing too crazy, and the thing is, you don’t adjust the ac by using your hands on the actual vents.
Now, the cool thing about this gts is that you do have that passenger screen over 10 inches for the passenger to be that side seat driver.
The good news is that you can turn it off very easily so that they can’t If you want to come out and see us right now or quickly return to the gauges, you may use apple carplay, which is a wireless apple carplay wireless android auto system.
You get a second 10 over 10 inch infotainment system screen as we slide over this is all that updated software touch screen capability you could go into your car settings we could adjust our drive modes right here set it up individually you could go into your chassis settings and then what’s awesome is that electronic sport sound now normally I’m not big into pumped in tunes but that electronic sport sound is awesome now as we slide over you get a second 10 over 10 inch infotainment system screen this is all that updated software the chronosport package Not only can you adjust it here, but remember we have the famous clock up top with the red background loving that attention to detail everything else is very intuitive climate controls I promised you how do you adjust climate control so what you have to do is come over here hit individual and now with my finger I can move where the fan is going to blow that’s the technology that you’re getting in this ticon that you’re not getting in a lot of the other oticons If your range anxiety is so bad, you can place it right here so you can always keep an eye on it no matter what.
You’ll also note beneath that of course we have to have a Porsche twinkie tray, and two twinkies will fit in here.
There’s more than racing written stuff in there, and I appreciate how they got the great knee protection to hold you and your passenger in there.
I appreciate how they chose flat black to shield this from fingerprints on the ticon name up top.
What about the key fob? There’s your porsche key fob with the crest look at the lines that’s the sport turismo right there you got your buttons on it easy to get to another cup holder and then open that bad boy up we got tons of uh suede material in here felt material so something doesn’t get scratched but I don’t know maybe two twinkies diagonally if you go any further you’re going to get cream all over this beautiful gts Hi guys, business time behind the wheel, you get three memory seat settings just like the passenger, but look at what you’re receiving on both sides, that lovely carbon fiber sill plate with the ticon gts grip that lights up led foot box is looking excellent.
I wish the optional aluminum pedals had been included, but you do get a wonderful huge dead pedal brake pedal and throttle in the pedal box.
The seats are comfortable, and I feel like this car was made for me.
For the business side, you do have that racetex covered steering wheel with red stitching all the way around carbon fiber love the way they hollowed out the spokes and you got the porsche crest and the drive mode selector switch just like a lama race car it is electric tilting and telescoping steering wheel plus you’ll notice that they have the power on button in the traditional location where you would normally find the key fob location or the knuckle.
We could bring up the sport chrono to truly test our time, then turn off traction control and change our suspension all with the flick of a thumb on the screen to increase or reduce our gts, which we’re doing right now.
really cool setup on there, and I like how they did a nice concave shape to the screen to make it feel familiar to the Porsche brand, but before we go, they say there’s more room in the back seats with the sport turismo setup, so let’s get in the back and see how your passengers are going to enjoy you carving corners like a thanksgiving day turkey in this tycon gts.
Backseat time, and yes, I am live evidence that the sport turismo version of the tycon has more headroom than your ticon sedan, which is fantastic.
Of course, ours has the racetex alcantara microfiber suede material throughout the whole headliner, which is also fantastic.
You can get an optional sunroof with that latest technology that charges particles at the touch of a button and allows you to tint or clear it all with the touch of a button, but this one has been optioned with the solid roof for optimal performance.
Speaking of ultimate performance, those one-piece back sport seats look hot, and I don’t mind since this ticon just looks great.
Of course, you’ll have rear ac controls and vents, and remember, it’s all done on the touchscreen, and I can move anything about, so that’s ultimate technology.
We have a skittles tray back here to taste the rainbow since we can’t see the rainbow because we don’t have the sunroof you could have your skittles back here I have plenty of leg room they really did a great job making this unique to the feel and function and then of course there is an armrest but i’m going to zonk it because there isn’t enough leather material for your arm but you do have two cupholders which is nice plus everyone gets a red Lower cargo floor, big and wide, with a nook on the driver’s side for a complete box of twinkies so you don’t have twinkies all over the place while you’re at the Nurburgring turning your hot laps, plus a box for their twinkies on the passenger side, as well as a spot for a 12 volt battery.
If you’re curious about the size of the area back here, it’s 43 cubic feet.
You could go to Costco and perform a bigger run to grab those larger goods.
